John O’Connor is a serial financial entrepreneur with significant expertise in corporate finance, equity and debt capital raises, private equity, fixed income and risk management.
John has established five very successful start-up initiatives throughout his career and excels at growing and operating businesses by implementing and executing on strategic objectives.
He was most recently the Founder and CEO of a consulting and advisory business where he originated and led 100+ consulting, advisory, acquisition and capital raising opportunities for clients with a book value of more than $3 billion.
John was also Managing Partner and Treasurer of a self-funded leading boutique advisory and consulting company and executed on transactions with a book value of more than $2 billion.
John successfully established a Midwest U.S. investment banking practice for Portigon A.G., one of the largest multinational banks and in a three-year time frame grew revenue from $0 to more than $10 million.
He was also principal for a private equity backed operating fund and led, closed and funded the company’s first acquisition with an enterprise value of nearly $300 million.
Prior to this, John established a domestic and international business line at Duff & Phelps, representing 5% of firm wide revenue within an established business unit of a long standing, well regarded Chicago based financial institution.
John serves as a mentor, advisor and board member for Universities and a not for profit enterprise he played a led role in establishing.
John holds a BS degree in Economics from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from The Kellstadt School of DePaul University with a concentration in Finance.
John has been a frequent speaker at top industry events and conferences in the U.S. and abroad. He enjoys his family, traveling, running, biking, competing in triathlons and hiking and has visited over 20 countries. He also enjoys reading, writing, cooking and music.
Chief Business Development Officer
Steven has worked in the financial services industry for more than twenty-five years primarily in a sales and business development role.
He has experience in derivatives, managing complex options positions for a proprietary trading group. He also has extensive experience in banking and payment systems.
Steven most recently was a Vice President of business development at Earthport (London, UK), a global financial services organization providing cross border payment solutions for corporations and banks with payment capabilities in 200 countries.
He was previously a Vice President/Relationship Manager of commercial banking at US Bank in Chicago where he developed a concentration of clients involved in cross boarder remittances.
At US Bank and Earthport he developed extensive experience in payment systems with an emphasis on mobile and international remittances.
He also held Vice President positions at Edgar Online, and The Actuarial Exchange and was Director and Marketing for Duff & Phelps covering the Telecom and Global Power sectors.
Steven has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Tulane University and an Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University.
Bradford Ress, M.D.
Dr. Bradford Ress graduated cum laude from Cornell University and earned an M.D. with Distinction from the University of Miami. He is board certified and fellowship-trained in Otology, Neurotology, & Skull Base Surgery.
A former faculty member of the University of California – San Diego and an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Ress has owned and managed his own medical practice since 1999.
In 2008, Dr. Ress and his colleagues formed The Otolaryngology Group, a single specialty group consisting of otolaryngologists in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
As Chairman of this corporation, Dr. Ress successfully negotiated a merger of this company with a $40 million+ “mega-group” that primarily served Miami-Dade County. Dr. Ress is a Partner, Member, or Consultant of several domestic and international companies and has served as a Member of Cornell University’s Dean’s Advisory Committee and Major Gifts Committee.
